Child abuse definition is harm or harm to a childs health or welfare that occurs through non-accidental physical or mental harm.Child abuse occurs in anywhere in any part of the world nowadays,child abuse cases often heard at world news or daily news paper that we read,the latest news about child abuse reported about an incident of a 3 years old female child has been physically and sexually abuse and was brought to the hospital by her mother after found her unconcious.Child abuse, molestation and rape reported to the Royal Malaysian Police are increases by each year,this statistic showing that child abuse cases are getting serious,each year at least 1000 children in Malaysia are reported as victims.With high statistics of child abuse,children rights are taken away and also loose the oppurtunity to live healthy and happily.
There are several ways in which children can get hurt in childhood and the consequences of these hurts are many, often producing lifelong scars.Child Abuse can be categorized into three form, physical, emotional and sexual.
Physical abuse is harm that include of hitting,kicking,punching and other ways of causing pain to the child,such as poisoning and drowning.This type of behavior effects on a child’s emotional,behavioural and educational when they grow up,to become a good person an a matured adult,the child’s must be given a good care for them to grow up becoming a good person.Victims of child abuse sometimes take a long time to recover from their nightmare and some of them failed to recover because of the physical abuse that occurs to them leave them a scar that will never heal.Physical abuse that occurs for a long time period,it may cause disability and brain damage.The adults and the adolescent abusive manners is usually caused by their problems such as,tired,stress and sometimes financial problems,this can cause them to released their anger to their child.The abuse will leave wounds,bruises,or scar wont easily heal.The child that being abused may show physical sign that shows that their are being abused such as difficulty in walking because being abuse aggressively,bruises or other injuries in the genital or the rectal area.The child that being abuse usually are afraid to tell that there are being abuse gives unreasonable explanation of the injury.Later on when they grow up becoming an adult,they will show fearful behavior
Definition of sexual abuse is an adult or older adolescent abuses a child for sexual stimulation.The sexual abuse is like exposing of the genitals to a child,displaying pornography to a childs,actual sexual contact against a child,physical contact with the child’s genitals,viewing of the child’s genital without physical contact without or using a child to produce child pornography.Sexual abuse can cause depression,anxiety and the most common cause is the sexual abuse can form of incest.Sexual abuse that occurs,really leaves the kid with the huge impact and really hurt their emotions and life.The child that were sexually abused will go through a very hard time to deal with their problems,the abused will be past on to the another generation to one generation,if a child that sexually abused when he a small kid,when he grow up,he will be the one to be sexually abusive to his child,and later can form a sex relations between parents and the child.
The third type of abuse is emotional abuse,it is the third stage of abuse is because the child suffer from the physical and sexual abuse,it affects their emotions,because they are to afraid to speak,they become very depressed and easily distracted.The child that were abuse may indicate to commit suicide,kill other people,like to do vandalism or like to molest people.Child that abused usually are aggressive or witdrawn behavior,shying away from physical contacy with parents or adult and most of them afraid to go home.
Abuse can happen in any family,regardless of any special characteristics.There are factors contributing and influencing abuse that occurs in a family, characteristics of families in which abuse may be more likely, Families who are often in crisis such as,have money problems, parents who abuse drugs or alcohol,parents who are very critical of their child,parents who are very rigid in disciplining their child,parents who show too much or too little concern for their child,parents who feel they have a difficult chil and Parents who are under a lot of stress.The parents just do not care of their child because of their problems,the childs become the victims of their madness.
The child that being abuse are really need help,they are in pain that not eveyone would understand,the government are in plan to reduce the child abuse cases,hoping that child abuse cases will deacrease by each year.The big impact of child abuse in Malaysia really makes the government to work very hard facing the child abuse cases.Today the world and also Malaysia has the new way to approach and manage how to deal with the child abuse problems,government had build up an organization to prevent the child abuse case,their way to approach and to solve the problems is giving a talk about awareness of child abuse,caunselling sessions for family or the victims of the child abuse.This organization help the government to reduce of child abuse cases,and their mange to reduce the the child abuse cases each year.Celebrating the Children’s day each year will help to increase their awareness of child abuse.UNICEF became the original United National International Children’s Emergency fund.
As a nurse, it is important to play a role in preventing child abuse,hoping that we cant prevent child abuse before it occurs.There are many things that nurses can do to help and preventing child abuse,as a nurse.we may be the first person to suspect and report abuse.We can also be the biggest source of support anf give information available to the parents.Besides that,we can gives information on child’s development and appropriate discipline to the families.As a nurse we must be a model to a good child care practices,we must help them to build trusting relationship with families and discuss concerns.help families establish positive relationship with their children,refer families to community resources and support services.As a nurse we can also have a parent staff workshop at hospitals or a talk about the abuse issues,and we can educate young children about their right to say no abuse.
Child abuse cases that occurs in Malaysia are getting worse,even the whole world are facing the same problems,even there are so many ways and effort have been done to prevent child abuse to occurs,there still left many cases to solved.As a nurse and as a people that cares of the victim of the abuse,are hoping that there will be no more abuse in the future.The victim of a child abuse will be able to live a happy life if we help them from now on,if we just see and let it happen,it will darkened they future and they not be able to live a healthy and harmony life when they growing as an adult in the future.The conclusion is stop child abuse and we all have to try to prevent it because prevention is better than cure.
